Philippine Army Day, celebrated annually on March 22, honours the establishment of the Philippine Army in 1897 during the Tejeros Convention, marking a significant milestone in the country’s fight for independence. The day also coincides with the birth anniversary of Emilio Aguinaldo, the first President of the Philippines. The Philippine Army, founded during the revolutionary period against Spanish rule, has since played a vital role in the nation’s defence, peacekeeping, and security. Each year, Army Day is observed with ceremonies and events recognizing the sacrifices and contributions of soldiers.
