Emilio Aguinaldo Day

Emilio Aguinaldo Day commemorates the birth of General Emilio Aguinaldo on March 22, 1869, honoring his role as the first president of the Philippines and a key figure in the country’s fight for independence. While not a regular national holiday, it was officially observed in 2019 for his 150th birth anniversary. Celebrations often take place in Cavite, particularly at the Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, where he declared Philippine independence on June 12, 1898.
